Sometimes in my classes, I like to use a bit of small equipment — usually a soft ball, resistance band, weighted ball… or sometimes even all three! Small equipment adds variety, feedback, and an extra challenge to your workout. They’re also inexpensive, versatile, and easy to transport.
If you would like to buy your own, here are some suggestions:
Pilates Soft Balls (red, 9 inch):

Resistance Bands (medium):

Sometimes, if you are practising at home and do not have any small equipment to hand, it’s fun to get creative — for example; a 500g jar of chilli sauce instead of a weight, a squidgy cushion for a soft ball, or a (very stretchy) pair of leggings for a resistance band!
